Every year the lilacs in my yard put on their best show of color and scent to get hot and heavy with other lilacs. They aren’t the only trees in my yard that get it on. There are at least three other flowering trees that show what they’ve got each spring. Next spring will be an orgy of tree love because I have ordered at least 20 new flowering trees to plant in the yard. There will be a hedge of forsythia and a redbud avenue for strolling. I will also underplant the new trees with shade loving wild flowers and will hopefully replace my grass with a carpet of clover.
